TOKYO (Reuters) – Nissan Motor Co detected mishandling-related exhaust emissions and fuel consumption measurements at most of its factories in Japan on Monday.

The Japanese automaker said in a statement that it had found that the test environments for emissions and fuel economy did not comply with requirements, and that inspection reports were based on changed measures.

Nissan said it would take appropriate action to prevent future occurrence.
