NISSAN: Holistic approach to electrification

H Nissan innovates by offering its new models advanced systems with the common denominator of hybrid technology. Both the new Qashqai and the new X-Trail and Juke feature electrified ground-breaking systems that promote economical driving, travel comfort and everyday journeys combined with safe commuting.

In particular, the new innovative system Nissan e-POWER drivetrain is also available in Greece, once again setting new standards in the crossover category.

Spirtzis: What does he answer about the accident in Tempi and the responsibilities of SYRIZA

The new Qashqai will be the first model in Europe to be equipped with the unique drive system e-POWER by Nissan. The e-POWER system is a unique approach to electric mobility, making everyday driving enjoyable and efficient.

Electric drive to the wheels with a final power of 19OPS !

The e-POWER system consists of a high-performance battery supplemented by a 1.5-liter, 156-horsepower three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, a power generator, an inverter and a 140 kW electric motor. The gasoline engine produces electricity, which can be transmitted via the inverter to the battery, the electric motor, or both, depending on the driving scenario.

What makes this drivetrain special is that the electric motor is the sole source of power to the wheels, so its response is immediate and linear. Therefore, the new Qashqai’s e-POWER system was designed to provide the enjoyable, effortless and smooth driving experience found in an EV, but without the need to recharge.

X-Trail

New X-Trail will be the second model in Nissan’s European range which will be equipped with the innovator e-POWER powertrain of the brand.

The new X-Trail’s e-POWER system consists of a high-performance battery and drivetrain integrated with a 1.5-litre variable compression ratio petrol engine, power generator, inverter and 150kW front electric motor. And in this model the power to the wheels comes from only one electric motor, which results in an immediate, linear response to the throttle, with the final power of the system reaching 213 hp in the e-4ORCE version!

The unique element of e-POWER is that the petrol engine is used exclusively to produce electricity, while the wheels are driven entirely by the electric motor. It ensures excellent performance in fuel consumption in urban conditions with unique ride quality and guarantees quiet driving.

ePedal Step: Brake accelerator with one pedal!

Since 70% of driving time is likely to be spent in suburban areas, Nissan has developed a completely new driving experience with a pedal called e-Pedal Step. Designed to smooth out the repetitive strain of urban driving, where the driver frequently moves their foot between the accelerator and the brake, e-Pedal Step allows drivers to accelerate and brake using only the accelerator.

ICE hybrid version

In addition to the e-POWER version, the X-Trail will also be available with the turbocharged 1.5-liter variable compression ratio engine. With an output of 120 kW (163 hp) and 300 Nm of torque, this version will be offered only in two-wheel drive, with power transmitted through the Xtronic gearbox. The powertrain is also equipped with 12v hybrid technology. The system provides torque assist, extended idle stop, quick restart and stop motion, with benefits for both fuel economy and CO2 output.

e-4ANY:Motion on all four wheels

The all-new X-Trail features a new all-wheel-drive system designed to work with Nissan’s electrified powertrains and is featured in the. The e-4ORCE will offer reassuring traction and confident acceleration in all conditions, thanks to Nissan’s most advanced all-wheel control technology. The “e” in e-4ORCE stands for Nissan’s 100% electric drive system. “4ORCE” refers to the physical power and energy of the vehicle, with the “4” representing all-wheel control.

Nissan Juke: Immediately available

Nissan’s compact crossover, the JUKE, is also immediately available with a new hybrid powertrain, offering dynamic performance combined with reduced emissions and consumption. The JUKE’s hybrid powertrain consists of a new generation of Nissan’s state-of-the-art internal combustion engine, specially designed for use in a hybrid powertrain application. It produces 69 kW (95 hp) and 148 Nm of torque. On the electrification side, Nissan integrated the main electric motor that produces 36 kW (50 hp) and 205 Nm of torque, while Renault powered the system with the 15 kW high-voltage starter/generator, inverter and 1.2 kWh water-cooled battery , as well as with the highly innovative gearbox. The JUKE Hybrid also features a drive mode selector, which allows the driver to select Eco/Normal/Sport modes.

The JUKE Hybrid not only starts in 100% electric mode, but can reach speeds of up to 55 km/h in pure EV, so drivers can enjoy a strong, stable and lasting EV driving experience. It also delivers 25% more power than the current petrol engine version, with a fuel consumption reduction of up to 40% in the urban cycle and up to 20% in the combined cycle (data subject to approval).
