MONTERREY.- Before the passage of an electrical storm through the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey, Civil Protection of Nuevo León deploys an operative to supervise rivers and streams in coordination with municipal authorities.
And we must remember that in recent weeks there have been events of people dragged by the current of bodies of water while they were bathing, swimming or simply living on the shore.
That is why the authorities have redoubled efforts to monitor the water level of these rivers and streams, mainly during storms and heavy rainfall.
In addition, it extends the following recommendations for the presence of a thunderstorm.
- Avoid high places like hills or mountains.
- Get away from electric poles.
- Don’t take shelter under trees.
- Avoid contact with water.
- Do not stay in large open spaces.
Currently there are flooding in main avenues.
The operation continues before the rain forecast for the following hours.
Severe weather is forecast for the northern, metropolitan, eastern and citrus areas for the afternoon of today; with strong wind as well as falling hail.
