No evidence to evidence bribery: Corficolombiana

After the statements of the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, SIC, about the cases of bribery and conflict of interest with regard to the road infrastructure project Ruta del Sol Sector 2, Corficolombiana rejected the charge of exploiting conflict of interest in Ruta del Sol II.

"There is no evidence to show that Odebrecht's bribery practices have involved Grupo Aval, Corficolombiana, or Episol," the bank said in a statement.

In the same way, the company headed by María Lorena Gutiérrez, assured that neither from the accounts of Corficolombiana nor those of its subsidiary, Episol, irregular payments were made as those mentioned in the press conference of the SIC.

Likewise, the Aval Group, Corficolombiana and Episol vehemently rejected the charge attributed to them "Taking advantage of conflict of interest".

"Throughout its history Grupo Aval has been characterized for advancing its operations with absolute transparency and unrestricted adherence to the Law. These same principles of corporate governance and legality have been established and observed in the companies controlled by Grupo Aval," says the release.

He adds that "the Aval Group, Corficolombiana, Episol and its executives have not been notified of the resolution announced at the SIC press conference."

In addition, the entities warned that they will exercise their legitimate right to defense, provide any explanation required and provide or request evidence that is necessary to demonstrate that there was no illegality in their actions or those of their officials.
