Sony has unveiled the camera system for the upcoming Xperia 1 IV, a mobile with the longest product side we’ve ever seen.
Sony is betting everything on photography…
According to the company, this is the first mobile phone with a “true optical 85-125 mm zoom lens.”
There is also support for 4K @ 120 FPS, direct streaming and with the option to connect to an external monitor. It’s all powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
For external display support, Sony announces this:
Use the Xperia 1 IV as an external 4K monitor or viewfinder with a variety of useful settings such as brightness, zoom and grid. And enjoy streaming streaming video services with Alpha image quality via the external on-screen feature. You only connect a camera that supports USB Video Class (UVC).
Price: 13,490 kroner. The launch is supposedly 1 September, but we have not been able to confirm this for the Nordic countries.
… But also wants gaming and music fans
There are three lenses in the Xperia 1 IV:
- 16 mm ultra-wide angle
- 24 mm vid angle
- 12MP front camera
- Optical telephoto with 85 to 125 mm zoom
Sony not only appeals to the photo enthusiast, but also gamers and music lovers:
Xperia 1 IV delivers the best of Sony to all users and creators. There are unique features for videographers and photographers, and a great help for mobile players, whether they are eSports players or streamers.
