Due to work slowing traffic on the A84 at the border of Calvados and the Channel, the help of the gendarmerie was requested on Saturday May 21, 2022, in order to allow a transport of organs to return as quickly as possible to the Caen University Hospital.

Currently, due to work to replace the surfacing of the road, traffic is only carried out on a single lane on the A84, in both directions, at the limit of the Channel and Calvados. However, this Saturday, May 21, 2022, an organ transport, bound for Caen University Hospital, found itself stuck in the slowdown.
“As it is a life-threatening emergency”, as the gendarmerie recalls, an escort of bikers was asked to open the road, in order to allow transport to reach the hospital more quickly.
