JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (MenpanRB) Tjahjo Kumolo said there was a game in the local government (Pemda) regarding 31,000 ASN receiving social assistance.

“Not blame. But, this is a game in the local government. What we regret is that there are employees who receive social assistance and do not return it,” Tjahjo said Compass TV, Monday (11/22/2021).

Even so, Tjahjo admitted that there were no specific rules regarding the ban on ASN receiving social assistance.

“It is not specifically regulated for ASN to be prohibited from receiving social assistance. However, basically, ASN is a government employee with a fixed income. There are salaries, allowances, and other receipts,” said Tjahjo.

“Supposedly, ASN who did receive social assistance, even though they never applied for it, should have refused or returned it,” he added.

To follow up on this problem, Tjahjo admitted that his party had coordinated with the National Personnel Agency (BKN).

“We have asked BKN to clarify, coordinate with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Ministry of Social Affairs). This shows that there is no single data between the Ministry of Social Affairs, BKN and local governments,” said Tjahjo.

He said that he would impose disciplinary sanctions on ASN who are proven to have received social assistance by cutting performance allowances or salaries.
