:
These Christmas markets will be in the region in 2021

Soon it will be that time again: The Christmas season will be rung in and the Christmas markets with their colorful lights and stalls will be set up. You have to know that about the markets in North Rhine-Westphalia this year.

Last year they were sorely missed, because for many they are part of the Christmas season: the Christmas markets. This year many can finally take place again – with many different stalls and attractions. This year, due to the pandemic, they will start even earlier than in previous years.

These dates have already been set for the Christmas markets in the region:

  • Wuppertal Elberfeld: The Christmas market in Wuppertal Elberfeld starts on November 18th and ends on December 30th. In addition to a crib on Von der Heydt-Platz, where you can see sheep, goats, geese and donkeys, visitors are also invited to explore numerous stalls. The Elberfeld Christmas market is located in the triangle between the main station, the Elberfeld town hall and Von der Heydt-Platz and is open daily from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wuppertal, Lüntenbeck Castle: With baroque music, delicacies and various handicrafts, the Christmas market at Lüntenbeck Castle invites you to come from December 3rd to December 12th. Visitors over 14 years of age have to pay seven euros to enter.
  • Düsseldorf: The stalls at the Christmas market in Düsseldorf will be open from November 13th to December 30th. The Christmas market attracts its visitors with the craft market at Düsseldorf City Hall, the Engelchenmarkt on Heinrich-Heine-Platz and the Sternchenmarkt in the inner courtyard of the Wilhelm-Marx-Haus. The 450 square meter ice rink at Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz also offers fun and joy for the whole family.
  • Remscheid: The Christmas market in Remscheid opens on November 12th and ends its season on December 23rd with a big fireworks display. In addition, the 600 square meter natural ice rink invites you to go ice skating in the open air. Two separate ice rinks are also used for curling.
