Wuppertal In order to provide the municipalities with the best possible support in climate protection, the new state company for energy and climate protection “NRW.Energy4Climate” is anchored in the regions. On Wednesday (April 12, 2022), Christoph Dammermann (State Secretary in the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) and Ulf C. Reichardt (Chairman of the Management Board) gave the go-ahead for the Wuppertal-based regional office Bergisches Städtedreieck.
Climate networkers should work in the regional offices of the national company. “These build local networks in the respective region, provide information on funding programs, impart know-how and help to get local climate protection projects off the ground,” it says. Thomas Heider is responsible for the Bergisch city triangle region. The regional office is set up on the premises of the IHK in Wuppertal. Others will come to Münster, Bielefeld, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Aachen, Krefeld, Arnsberg and Gelsenkirchen.
Dammermann: “North Rhine-Westphalia has set itself ambitious goals for climate protection and wants to be climate-neutral by 2045. Since the beginning of the year, ‘NRW.Energy4Climate’ has been working with a great deal of commitment and expertise to bring the necessary private investments to North Rhine-Westphalia and to implement concrete measures with the economy and the municipalities. In order to jointly shape and actively promote the climate-friendly transformation on site, the national company is now also represented here in the Bergisch city triangle.”
Reichardt adds: “Climate protection is a joint task. We send our technical experts to the regions so that we can tackle this joint task together locally and in close cooperation with all stakeholders. This is the only way we can achieve our climate goals. I would like to thank the Bergische IHK, on whose premises we were able to open our office.”
Michael Wenige (Managing Director of the Bergische IHK): “The topics of energy and climate protection are increasingly becoming the focus of our work for our companies. We are therefore very pleased that the regional office will be working with us in the IHK. This enables us to use synergies and to master the great challenges of these future topics together.”
Stephan A. Vogelskamp (Managing Director of the Bergische Struktur- und Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft): “We are very pleased that we are now once again receiving personal support for the priority area of climate protection in the region via ‘NRW.Energy4Climate’ and are very much looking forward to working together.”
