After the Foodsharing initiative withdrew from the fair divider in the district office in Nordend, thanks to voluntary commitments and private donations, the food distributor on Bernardstraße has been given new life: Von Ich zu Ich gGmbH around Katja Werner has donated new food boxes and Christopher Peterseim and Carina Schweitzer have added an additional shelf where well-preserved, smaller items can be given away. The prerequisite is that the items fit into the shelf and are functional.

Clothing is expressly not desired, there are other collection points for this. The district office has long been home to an open bookshelf that is available for spontaneous browsing, taking with you and adding to. The fair divider and the shelves are available from Monday to Friday between 8.30 a.m. and 1 p.m., on Thursdays during the market and during the parents’ café also until 8 p.m. Head of Social Affairs Martin Wilhelm is happy about the commitment in the quarter: “Living together works all the better when we look out for each other. The fair divider in the north end shows how sustainable coexistence can succeed.”
