One person was raised in Alūksne from the lake, but the other – in Sigulda from the river.
The SFRS calls for caution when relaxing by the water. For extra safety, when using one of the water sports or riding a boat, cutter or other floating craft, use life jackets.
On Thursday at 23.46, the SFRS also received a call in Riga, where a fire had broken out in a multi-storey residential building. Arriving at the scene, firefighters found that the apartment in the five-storey house was burning an electric stove and a table surface of 0.5 square meters. Rescuers rescued a man who had been injured and handed over to the ambulance service doctors from the smoked apartment. At 00.22 the fire was extinguished. The smoke detector was not installed in the house.
The SFRS reminds that from January 1, 2020, all dwellings must be equipped with smoke detectors that will warn of smoke and fire by means of an audible sound. In turn, private houses must be additionally provided with a fire extinguisher.
Last day, firefighters also rushed to the calls, where garbage burned, the ceiling of the farm building, food burned in two cases, a refrigerator, a sauna and a barn wall, and a garden house.
Last day, the SFRS received a total of 41 calls – 11 for firefighting, 25 for rescue work, but five calls were deceptions.
