This year we are resuming the presentation of our fall conference and oral history will be in the spotlight. This multidisciplinary colloquium will bring together practitioners from history centers, historical societies and universities, as well as artistic fields integrating oral history.

The conference Oral history: an evolving practice is organized by the Fédération Histoire Québec and the Société historique et culturelle du Marigot, in collaboration with the MEM-Center des Mémoires montréalaises, the Écomusée du fier monde, the Center d’histoire oral and digital stories from Concordia University and the Abitibi-Témiscamingue Museum Network.

While highlighting a diversity of themes, we will explore the various stages of an oral history project, from initial intentions to institutional, media or artistic dissemination, including the search for witnesses, technical preparation and logistics, ethical issues, the collection itself, as well as the archiving and preservation of interviews.
