An overrun dairy anchor has closed the M4 in Wiltshire west between Junction 17 (Chippenham) and Junction 18 (Dodington, A46) this morning.
In addition, there is a large spillage of diesel from the vehicle after the accident, which is said to have happened this morning at 6:30 (Sunday, September 16).
Police, ambulances and highways England traffic police are on site.
Vehicles that are in the closet are released via a single lane at the scene. However, the highway should be closed for the rest of the morning.
The traffic is diverted and should follow the solid diamond symbol:
- Motorists should exit at Junction 17 and head towards Chippenham on the A350. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit
- Head west on the A420 Cold Ashton and at the roundabout A46 take the third exit
- Head north on the A46 and exit at junction 18 onto the M4.
Those traveling in the area this morning are advised to give extra time for their journey.
