OVERVIEW. Just over 100 patients in intensive care | Coronavirus what you need to know

There are currently 105 corona patients in the intensive care departments of Belgian hospitals. This is apparent from data from health institute Sciensano on Friday morning. The other parameters also continue to decline.

In the week from 3 to 9 May, on average 4.296 corona infections per day. That is a decrease of 4 percent compared to a week earlier. That brings up the counter of the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic 4.116.397.

Hospital admissions

The past seven days were averaged per day 112 people hospitalized with corona. That is a decrease of 17 percent compared to the previous week.

The peak of the BA.2 wave is tentatively on March 31. Then became 268 people included. In comparison, the peak of the BA.1 wave was on February 1. Then in one day 424 people admitted to hospital.
