Palestinian demonstration according to police without incident
Frankfurt a.M. (epd). According to the police, a pro-Palestine demonstration in downtown Frankfurt took place on Saturday afternoon without any particular incidents. Only 65 people took part in the march through the center, a spokesman for the police headquarters told the Evangelical Press Service (epd). The Jewish community in Frankfurt am Main and the Hessian anti-Semitism commissioner Uwe Becker had previously called for the rally to be banned because they saw it as an expression of Jew hatred.
Despite the concerns, the city of Frankfurt had decided that the pro-Palestine demonstration could take place under certain conditions. The organizers of the “Free Palestine FFM” initiative had originally expected 200 to 500 participants.
