Parents of Iranian Mahsa Amini file lawsuit against police

Tehran: After the death of Iranian Mahsa Amini, her parents filed a lawsuit against the police officers involved. Her lawyer said so. The public prosecutor’s office and the examining magistrate were asked to examine in detail what exactly happened from Amini’s arrest to her transfer to the hospital. The head of the prosecutor’s office promised a thorough investigation, the lawyer said. – Amini was arrested by the vice squad in mid-September for allegedly wearing her headscarf too loosely. She fell into a coma in police custody under mysterious circumstances and died. Since the 22-year-old’s death, people in large parts of Iran have been protesting against the actions of the police and for more women’s rights.
