The event brings together fans of manga and science fiction every year in Paris. The “Paris Manga & Sci-Fi Show”; which was to be held on March 7 and 8 at Porte de Versailles, was canceled this Sunday. The organizers announced the news in a statement posted on Twitter.
The government banned this Saturday any gathering of more than 5000 people in confined spaces, to fight against the epidemic of coronavirus in the country. More than 100 cases have been confirmed in France, which makes it the second focus of infection in Europe, after Italy.
“All tickets and extras purchased will of course be reimbursed in the coming days,” said the organizers. Last year, 75,000 visitors made the trip.
