Paris will test the opening of subways at night from September

The Paris metro will play extra night. Six metro lines and three tram lines will open on an experimental basis all night one Saturday a month, from September to March in Paris, announced the president of the Ile-de-France region, Valérie Pécresse (LR) in an interview at Parisian published Saturday.

This test phase will concern metro lines 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 14 as well as tramway lines 2, 3a and 3b in the capital. according to The ParisianSaturdays concerned by the opening of the night are already closed: 14 September, 12 October, 9 November, 31 December, 11 January, 8 February and 7 March.

"It is not possible to open the metro 24 hours a day, because of the many RATP maintenance projects, there are more than 400 every day", emphasized Valérie Pécresse stating that the cost of a single night opening "is in millions of euros".
