Parties – Freiburg im Breisgau – Green Vice Lang would like to set new accents as chairman – politics

Freiburg (dpa) – The vice-chairman of the Greens in the federal government and candidate for the party chairmanship, Ricarda Lang, would like to set new priorities as chairman. “Just because we are now the governing party, the future party leaders will inevitably set different priorities and also play a different role – new times, new answers,” Lang told the “Badische Zeitung” in Freiburg (Tuesday).

The connection between social and ecological issues is particularly important to her personally, said the 27-year-old. She grew up with a single mother and knows very well how it feels when you can hardly make ends meet at the end of the month. In addition, Lang, who sits in the Bundestag for the Baden-Württemberg constituency of Backnang/Schwäbisch-Gmünd, made it clear that her task as party leader is also to think beyond this term of office. “It’s about further sharpening the profile of the party.”

The party left from Filderstadt in the Esslingen district is applying together with the foreign politician Omid Nouripour for the presidency of the Greens. The social politician moved into the Bundestag for the first time in autumn and was the leading negotiator for the Greens in the coalition talks in the area of equality and diversity.
