Director Paul Haggis remains under house arrest. According to American media, a judge in the Italian city of Brindisi ruled on Wednesday that the Oscar winner accused of rape may not leave his hotel room for the time being.
Haggis, 69, denied the allegations in court on Wednesday. The alleged victim and the director are expected to be heard again next week. The judge will then determine whether it will go to trial. At least until then, Haggis will remain under house arrest.
The Canadian filmmaker, who is in Italy for a cultural festival, is accused of locking and raping a woman in his hotel room last week. The Crashdirector already has a case against him for sexual misconduct.
