“Pentecost 2023 Travel: Expect Congestion on German Autobahns”

SPX/Munich. On the long Pentecost weekend, drivers have to expect long traffic jams again. The ADAC expects a first highlight on Friday afternoon (May 26) and on Saturday morning (May 27) in the south. Last year, the Friday before Pentecost was the third day of the year with the most traffic jams. Disabilities are also expected during the return wave on Whit Monday (May 29).

The German autobahns in the metropolitan areas and the trunk roads on the North and Baltic Seas are particularly affected. Traffic jams are also to be expected on the classic international routes Tauern, Inntal, Rheintal and Brennerautobahn as well as the Gotthard route and on the long-distance roads to the Croatian coasts. According to the Automobile Club, the greatest risk of traffic jams is on the following routes:
