The number of positive cases of coronavirus in Peru it rose to 288,477 this Wednesday, July 1 in full social isolation required by the Government to combat COVID-19 in the country.

On day 108 of the state of national emergency and social isolation by COVID-19, the Ministry of Health indicated that a total of 1,699,369 people were sampled.

The Minsa reported 2,848 new infections of COVID-19. In addition, it indicated that fatalities are 9,860.

Regions with more cases

The Situational Room of the Ministry of Health reports that Lima continues to be the epicenter of the epidemic in the country, reaching on Tuesday the number of 158,189 infected.

Likewise, Callao, Piura and Lambayeque also report a high number of confirmed cases accumulated since the outbreak of the disease began.

These areas of the country have registered this Tuesday 17,984, 16,923 and 13,657 cases respectively,


As recalled, the first coronavirus death in Peru was reported on Thursday, March 19. This was a 78-year-old man who had high blood pressure and had been admitted to the Air Force Hospital with severe respiratory failure.
