Peru: Minsa: use of face shields will be mandatory

| |

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) is working on a rule to decree the mandatory use of facial protectors and provide a subsidy to citizens to access them, announced yesterday the Health Minister, Víctor Zamora, a few hours after the lifting of the mandatory quarantine in Lima and other regions of the country.

Zamora emphasized that, in the meetings in the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to discuss the terms of phase 3 of the economic reactivation, the officials and the President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra, expressed their “conviction” in the use of the veneers .

SUBSIDY. “Many ministers, and the President himself, are convinced of their use and we are going to promote and subsidize the use of face shields from now on,” he said.

However, he avoided going into details about the subsidy and the characteristics of the face protectors, as at some point he did with the reusable cloth masks.

FREE SALE. Since COVID-19 arrived in Peru and began to spread, merchants have placed not only masks for sale, but also acrylic and mica face shields, the costs of which range from S / 5 to S / 30.

These items are offered in digital stores, markets, conglomerates, and on the streets.

Users have opinions for and against. “You feel safer when going to work, so people cough or are close to you”, “You press your head too much, it generates severe pain”, “Breathing dulls the mask, we cannot see”, are some of the comments.
