A 28-year-old man was shot and wounded in a shooting in Montreal North on Tuesday evening.
Montreal police were alerted around 10:45 p.m. to gunshots heard near Rolland Boulevard and Pascal Street.
On the spot, the police found several casings on the ground near the adjoining rue Lapierre, said a spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal.
They also located a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the lower body. The latter was transported to a hospital, but there is no fear for his life.
According to initial information, the shots were fired from a moving vehicle towards a group of individuals who were outside.
The scene was protected by a security perimeter to allow investigators to analyze it and try to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this shooting.
A dog handler was also requested on the scene to help in the search for clues, added agent Véronique Comtois.
