Las elephants Asians Pocha and Guillermina are already in the elephant sanctuary, located in Mato Grosso, after the transfer that began on Saturday. The trip was made by land and took five days. The Elephant Sanctuary where they will live is the largest in Latin America and has 1,500 hectares of nature.
Both elephants they were accompanied all the way by a delegation of trainers, veterinarians and keepers from Ecoparque Mendoza and the Elephant Sanctuary Brazil (SEB); who were responsible for caring for and guaranteeing the safety, well-being and integrity of the animals on the trip.
The total distance to Mato Grosso was 3,600 km. Pocha and Guillermina, who had been living in the same Ecoparque in Mendoza for more than 23 years, were taken facing each other in different containers in the same truck, always looking at each other so as not to get stressed during the movement.
