Coach Daniel Stendel is said to have been attacked and injured after a game of his club FC Barnsley still in the stadium. One of his players first accused the opposing coach.
Police investigating a possible attack on former Hannover league coach Daniel Stendel after a league game in England. A spokesman for the South Yorkshire police told a PA news agency that Stendel's club FC Barnsley's 4-2 draw with Fleetwood Town resulted in an incident in the Players' Tunnel, which has led to an investigation.
Previously, Barnsley striker Cauley Woodrow had written on Twitter that Fleetwood coach Joey Barton had confronted his coach Stendel and then bled him. Both coaches had delivered a fierce discussion on the sideline towards the end of the game.
Barton often caused scandals
Barton has been involved in scandals in English football as a player. He has been repeatedly convicted by both the judiciary and the English Football Association for violent attacks on opponents and other players. In 2008, he was serving a prison sentence.
Woodrow deleted his tweet later. Barnsley said there was an incident and that the club supported the police in their investigations.
