Frankfurt aM/Rome (epd). During his Sunday address in Rome’s St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis called for an end to the war in Ukraine. His appeal is primarily aimed at Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pope Francis said, according to the church news portal Vatican News. At the same time, he appealed to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “to be open to serious peace proposals”.
