Positive Covid-19 Translucent 8,486 Cases Today, 54 People Died

Government through the Handling Task Force Covid-19 stated that there were an additional 8,486 positive confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Wednesday (16/11). So, until this Wednesday, the number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia was 6,582,291 cases, since it was first announced on March 2, 2020.

The addition of cases today is the highest since March 19 2022. Meanwhile on Tuesday (15/11), there were an additional 7,893 cases of Covid-19.

Based on the same data, there were an additional 4,255 recovered cases of Covid-19, bringing the total recovered cases to now 6,365,087.

Meanwhile, cases of death due to Covid-19 increased by 54. Thus, the total number of people who died became 159,253 people.

Then, there were 57,951 active cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia today. This number increased by 4,177 cases from the previous day.

In addition, there are 7,172 suspected Covid-19. The government also reported examining 84,695 specimens in the last 24 hours.

The number of people who received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination was 205,272,373 people (87.47 percent), the second dose was 172,133,110 people (73.35 percent), and the third or booster dose was 65,807,127 people (28.04 percent).

The Covid-19 Task Force is currently evaluating the potential for tightening domestic and international travel regulations during the 2023 Christmas and New Year holidays.

Meanwhile, until now the travel regulations during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia still follow the protocol set out in the Kasatgas Circular Numbers 24 and 25 of 2022.

Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono Harbuwono said the community cluster was the highest contributor to the trend of increasing Covid-19 cases that had occurred in Indonesia recently.

“Most of the clusters are community clusters,” said Dante at the Harapan Kita Heart and Vascular Hospital, West Jakarta, Wednesday (9/11).
