CALIFORNIA – President Donald Trump has issued a California disaster declaration after major parts of the state were damaged by storms, floods, landslides and mudslides earlier this year.
Trump issued the statement on Saturday to help 17 counties that suffered water damage from 24 February to 1 March 2019.
The statement means that the following districts will be eligible for federal funding to remedy the damage: Amador, Butte, Colusa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, Sonoma , Tehama, Trinity and Tuolumne.
Waves of heavy rain hit California, caught people in high tide, washed away a mountain road, triggered a mudslide, destroyed homes, and forced residents to flee forest-burned communities.
