Prevent arrival of migrants with climate change

Ciudad Juárez.- Climate change in Ciudad Juárez could favor the arrival of migrants seeking to cross the border, so local authorities will remain vigilant to this phenomenon.

Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar reported that support will be provided to people who arrive at the border when they see that the extreme cold season has ended.

“I think so, the winter had a lot to do with the decrease in migration, especially because they come from the south where they have a different environment, we are attentive anyway,” Pérez Cuéllar said on Saturday.

The mayor’s statement comes after the rescue of more than 50 migrants who were crowded into a house in the Villa Colonial neighborhood.
