Anshu Malik won a silver medal in the 57 kg category at the World Wrestling Championships in Oslo. In the final, Anshu lost to Helen Maroulis 1-4. Anshu is the current Asian champion. This is the first time an Indian woman wrestler has won a silver medal at the World Championships.

India’s Saritha Mor won the bronze medal. The bronze medalist won the World Wrestling Championship by defeating Sweden’s Lindborg 8-2. Saritha won in the 59 kg category.

Anshu Malik had sought medical help several times. Anshu, who is in good form, was expecting gold. But the injury was getting worse. Geeta Fogat, Babita Fogat, Vinesh Fogat and Pooja Danda had won bronze medals for India at previous championships.
