The lawyers for Jeffrey Epstein's alleged victims have asked Prince Andrew, who resigned from his official duties on Wednesday, to testify about the activities of the US financier.

Embarrassed in the Epstein case, Prince Andrew resigned from his official duties on Wednesday,
after a calamitous interview at the BBC. The prince is now summoned to tell
what he knew about the activities of the financier, found dead in prison after being accused of sexually exploiting underage girls for years.

Prince Andrew "ready to help" investigation

"We believe that no one is above the law and that anyone should answer questions if they have relevant information. And he (Prince Andrew) clearly has relevant information, "said Lisa Bloom, on Thursday, at BBC Radio 4. The night before, another lawyer, Gloria Allred, had summoned the prince to" contact unconditionally and without delay "the US authorities, even before a possible summons, on the BBC.

The second son of Queen Elizabeth II, mired in a controversy over his ties with Epstein and dropped by many of the companies and universities with which he collaborated, announced "to end his public commitments" and said " ready to help "the investigation of this case. "We know that Prince Andrew has had many contacts with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell (accused by several victims of having" recruited "them) and we believe that anyone who has had a lot of interactions with them should talk not only to the forces of order, but also to the victims' lawyers, people like me, "said Lisa Bloom, who represents five alleged victims of Epstein.

Forced sex with a minor

In his statement, Andrew, who was criticized for his lack of regret for his friendship with Epstein and empathy for the alleged victims in his BBC interview, said he "unequivocally regrets (his) misguided association with Jeffrey Epstein." And "deeply sympathize with all those affected" by the case. The descent into hell began in August with the publication in the United States of court documents in which a woman, Virginia Roberts, claims to have had sex with the prince on three occasions, to which Epstein would have forced her when she was 17 years old.

The publication of a photo showing her at that time, entwined by the prince, with Ghislaine Maxwell in the background, did the rest, as well as another shot showing the prince walking in New York with the financier. even though he had been sentenced and jailed for pedophilia in 2008.
