Professor of Medicine at the UManizales explains psychiatric disorders in film and TV characters

“ConCienciArte: Neurological and Psychiatric Disorders in Film and Television Characters” is the presentation directed by Estefanía Rojo Bustamante, professor and researcher at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the UManizales, this Wednesday, October 27 at 5:00 pm in Brain Week organized by the Colombian College of Neurosciences from October 25 to 29 of the same month.

This academic space seeks to make visible neuroscience research through the participation of experts focused on the area of ​​nervous system health.

“The Neurocine has been considered an interesting strategy to carry out activities of teaching, dissemination and social appropriation of knowledge, in order to address disorders or special conditions in the field of Neurology and Psychiatry. The objective of this activity is to make the general population aware of educational aspects that may derive from real or animated characters included in film and television productions ”, expresses Estefanía Rojo Bustamante.

The professor adds that ConCienciArte is an initiative that arises from the “Artistic Research-Creation” project that seeks to take advantage of the performing and plastic arts to carry out educational activities both for doctors in training and for the general population. . An activity in which third semester students of Medicine from the University of Manizales participate through the subject: Basic-Clinical Correlation of Neuroanatomy.
