PS4 users receive a strange message that triggers an error that causes the console to burn. According to a number of users on Reddit, this bug has recently occurred and works through the messaging app.
Players receive a message that in some cases does not even have to be opened to trigger the glitch. One player saw his entire team crash while playing Rainbow Six wins. A player from the other team sent them the message and crashed the entire team with a member. The player, who was not affected, had his messages set to private.
There's a new bug that basically slows down your console and forces you to reset it to factory settings. Even deleting the message from the mobile app does not work. This happened to me during Rainbow Six: Siege. A player from the other team used a dummy account to send the message and crashed my entire team. We all had to reset to factory settings. Only one of our boys was not affected and he has his news private.
Do this as soon as possible to prevent this from happening.
Another player also reported this mistake when playing Rocket League. The message appeared in the notification bar and that was all that crashed his system. Sony has not commented on this topic yet, and so far the problem seems isolated for a small number of players. Before it goes any further, measures must be taken
Currently, it's best to protect your PS4 by putting your messages private. Once the problem is resolved, you can reset your privacy settings to normal.
This is an evolving story, we will have more for you as more information comes to light.
