The ‘UP&DOWN’, Jazz & World Music Festival, starts this Monday at the Castillo de San Felipe and will last until next Sunday
The emblematic Castillo de San Felipe will once again be the space that hosts the ‘UP&DOWN‘, the Festival de Jazz & World Music of Puerto de la Cruz, which this year celebrates its sixth edition and will feature -as usual- a varied international representation, which will last for a whole week of concerts
This Monday, June 27thwill open the festival José Félix with his project ‘Fado Nocturne’, which will transport us to Lusitanian lands, hand in hand with that genre that has now become universal, Fado. The mars 28 It will be jazz that decorates the Castle with ‘D’Local Jazz Trio’a powerful and unstoppable proposal directed by Miguel Ramírez (saxes) and Miky Delgado (piano), accompanied by the great José Carlos Cejudo (bass).
The ‘whisper’ of some strings will be the protagonist of the third evening –Wednesday June 29-, from this edition of ‘UP&DOWN. This is the name of the album released by the virtuosos Jonay Mesa (guitar) and Jason Luis (lute): “Whispers Strings”.
The Thursday June 30arriving in Ecuador from the festival, will be the delicious voice of the versatile singer from Gran Canaria Carla Vega. The singer immerses us in an emotional journey into root music and in different genres that have forged her personal and unmistakable style. Once again, jazz will flood the walls and foundations of Castillo San Felipe, with the project trio of the extraordinary Tenerife guitarist Jonay Martín, on Friday, July 1.

The tango will be in charge of closing this sixth edition del ‘UP&DOWN’, el Sunday July 3hand in hand with the great Andrew Leoniwho for the occasion is accompanied by two extraordinarily virtuoso musicians: Gino Marcelli on piano and Tomás LP Cruz on double bass.
