According to the Central Statistical Office, purchase milk is the most expensive in history. In June, the average price of milk rose again in a row – this time by 2.7 percent. and amounted to PLN 227.18 / 100 l.
There is still a very good streak of raw milk quotations in purchase. For several months now, prices have been rising at a dizzying, previously unprecedented pace (see Chart below). In June, according to GUS data, the average purchase price of raw milk in Poland increased by 2.7 percent. to the record level of PLN 227.18 / 100 l. From June 2021 to June 2022, the price of milk increased by as much as 51.2 percent.
Milk purchases on the EU market are also more expensive. However, what may be worrying is the sharp drop in dairy prices on the New Zealand platform to their lowest levels in ten months.

On the New Zealand GDT platform, the index reflecting changes in the prices of dairy products decreased at the last session (07/19/2022) by 5.0%. It was the eighth decrease in its value (for the last nine tenders). From the appointment at the beginning of March this year. historical value at the level of 1,593 points. the index has already dropped by 23.2 percent. For a year (mid-July 2021-mid-July 2022), the index value increased by only 3.7 percent. At the last tender, butter fell by 2.1 percent. Whole milk powder fell by 5.1% and the price of skimmed milk powder fell by 8.6%.
On the EU market, the prices of dairy products have been stabilizing close to record values for a month now. During the year, according to the European Commission, the price of wholesale butter on the EU market increased by 82%, the price of skimmed milk powder increased by 55%, and the price of whole milk powder increased by 57%.

According to preliminary data of the European Commission (EC), in June this year. The weighted average purchase price of milk in the EU-27 increased by 2.6%. to record 48.83 euro / 100 kg. Over the past 12 months, the average EU milk price has increased by 36.5%.

According to EC data, the purchase price of raw milk in Poland increased by 1.9 percent in June. and amounted to 47.37 EUR / 100 kg. From June 2021 to June 2022, quotes increased by 42.6%. The current price of milk in Poland is 3.0 percent lower. from the EU average.
