Poroshenko stressed the importance of the early release of Ukrainian prisoners and expressed concern about the deterioration of their health.
In turn, Putin said the need for immediate release of Russian journalists arrested in Ukraine.
The leaders of the states agreed that the human rights commissioners of both countries will visit Russian citizens imprisoned in Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens in Russia.
Common sense should prevail

“Common sense must triumph in Ukraine, and I hope that we will achieve the release of the Russian journalist, including under the pressure of international organizations, on which the Ukrainian authorities depend one way or another,” the Russian leader said.
“Exchange fund”
The Federation Council believes that the case against Vyshinsky is necessary for Ukraine to create an “exchange fund” in order to free the Ukrainian citizens serving their sentence in Russia.
The deputy foreign affairs committee’s deputy Vladimir Jabarov believes that in such a situation Russia could go on an exchange, since the position of Vyshinsky and other detainees in Ukraine is alarming and it is necessary to do everything to save Russian citizens.
“At the same time, I want to note that such questions require silence, as a rule, they are seriously worked out at the level of the leaders of the countries, through the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but it is better not to open the public discussion,” the senator said. The Vyshinsky case
In May, the Ukrainian authorities began criminal prosecution of the head of the portal RIA Novosti Ukraina Kirill Vyshinsky. He was detained near the house in Kiev on suspicion of state treasury and support of the People’s Democratic Republic and the People’s Republic of Germany. The journalist faces up to 15 years of imprisonment.
Kherson city court has decided to place him for 60 days in custody without defining a pledge. The day after the announcement of the court’s decision in front of the Ukrainian embassy in Moscow, an action was held in support of Vyshinsky.
Some politicians and human rights activists allow the exchange of the head of the RIA Novosti Ukraina portal to Oleg Sentsov. Putin himself calls their cases incomparable.
