Job Purpose

Our Cat® MineStar™ O nboard Fleet and Edge t eam is looking for a passionate individual to collaborate within our dynamic team and contribute to its success. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will participate in all the team’s functions in an agile environment. You will be responsible to develop and execute test plan for embedded software applications in order to provide machinery fleet management and optimization applications for the mining industry.

Job Description / Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Specialist position develop test plans, execute test cases and troubleshoot onboard subsystem for Cat® MineStar™ Fleet and Edge solutions. The subsystems may include, but are not limited to:

  • Machine security system
  • Operator identification
  • Smart device integration
  • Display user interface / integration

You will work closely with the Software Developers and Strategist roles to translate complex subsystem requirements into the evaluation and development of validation plans.

Responsibilities include a strong quality focus through thorough test planning and execution. Thorough documentation and communication of issues is a must.

Advanced data analysis and systems analysis efforts and skills are needed to help troubleshoot complex issues from test or customer sites, and to examine the information from test sites to improve overall systems performance.

Required Skills / Qualifications

  • Technologist or Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Software, Computer) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in development, test, or validation of complex systems.
  • Experience in product validation in an Agile environment.
  • Bilingual (English & French).
  • Strong teamwork, communication (written and verbal) and decision-making skills
  • Effectively prioritize, manage time and work autonomously

Desired Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience with GPS positioning, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, SSL.
  • Experience with Linux operating system.
  • Experience using scripting languages (e.g.: Python).
  • Experience with Robot Framework
  • Machine or automotive electrical systems integration, verification and validation experience
  • Familiarity with construction, mining equipment
