Qatar Stock Exchange closed at the end of trading on Thursday – the first day of Ramadan, and the general index of the market by 0.66%, to close at 8891.16 points, losing about 60 points. The bourse witnessed a decline of 6 sectors headed by real estate by about 2.8%, while the transport sector rose by 0.1%. Ezdan was the top loser, down 5.43%, while Gulf Takaful was the green list with 4.4%. The market’s liquidity rose 31.4 percent to 1.04 billion riyals compared to 794.35 million riyals yesterday, while trading volume fell 24 percent to 6.39 million shares from 8.4 million shares on Wednesday. National Bank of Qatar (QNB) topped the trading session with 1.57 million shares worth SAR 243.25 million, closing down 0.01%.
