QRM: a referee who left good memories last season

Olivier Thual has been appointed to referee the Normandy derby between Caen and Quevilly-Rouen-Métropole, this Saturday at 7 p.m. A referee not yet crossed by the Malherbistes this season, who however left good memories last season.

If he has not yet refereed Malherbe this season, Olivier Thual had directed two games at the Michel d’Ornano stadium last season, which both ended in victory. At the reception of Nancy (1-0) first, as well as for the great success against Nîmes (4-0). It went less well during the 2020-2021 season, since it was he who expelled Rémy Riou against Dunkirk (1-1), when Benjamin Jeannot finished the match in goal. Aged 46, the experienced Olivier Thual will referee his first Ligue 2 match this season. He will be accompanied by Matthieu Lombard and Youssef El Hamzoui as assistant referees and Julien Guegen as fourth referee.
