Qualcomm: Snapdragon with new name structure

The manufacturer Qualcomm is, among other things, a leader in the field of SoCs for smartphones. Quite a few devices have a “Snapdragon branding” chipset. Over the years, the portfolio has been expanded and the company is confident that it will continue to grow in the years to come. Therefore, the step is now being taken to separate the Qualcomm and Snapdragon brands. In the future, Snapdragon should be an independent brand, with “specific connections to Qualcomm, if appropriate”. In this context, you also appear more strongly with your own colors and graphic elements. For Snapdragon, the “fireball” is now in the foreground, the color gold is only reserved for premium products.

Much more interesting how you want to regulate this: For the future, you want to simplify the name structure and make it more consistent. The mobile platforms then come with single-digit serial and generation numbers; the addition “Qualcomm” is omitted. It starts with the flagship series “Snapdragon 8 series”. Since the platforms have now been equipped with 5G across the board, this suffix will no longer be used in the future. The platforms from the automotive portfolio also belong to Snapdragon. For example, those will be called “Snapdragon Ride Platform” and “Snapdragon Digital Chassis” in the future.
