Rafael Lopez Aliagaleader of Popular Renovation and candidate for mayor of Lima, did not rectify the statements he made against the ungrouped congresswoman of the Purple Party flower paul and announced that “there is no problem” if the parliamentarian denounces him for the alleged crime of defamation.
In an interview with Canal N, López Aliaga assured that he bases his accusations of alleged consultancies with the State for 6 million dollars on two sources: a journalistic investigation and a note published in a local newspaper.
“If she wants to go to trial with me, there is no problem. I am going to ask you the same questions that I have asked you so far. If the lady has been working as Minister of Education and the husband has been with an NGO receiving money from the State for millions of dollars —according to the information I have, which is public—, what happened there? You cannot have the husband working for the State at the same time as a minister. One of the two has to resign,” said the former presidential candidate.

Rafael López Aliaga based his statements on a report broadcast on the Beto Ortiz program. This material stated that Jaime Márquez carried out consultancies for various state entities. However, in a notarial letter addressed to the television host, the legislator denied this approach, since the aforementioned advice took place between 2012 and 2018, but Pablo Medina was sworn in as Minister of Education in 2019.
“He has been hired to manage different projects financed by International Cooperation, not receiving any type of money from the State. (…) Jaime Márquez (…) has taught at the Electoral School of the JNE, the UNMSM and other institutions. They have not been ‘consultancies for an NGO’, as Mr. Ortiz maliciously points out”, the congresswoman pointed out.
Flor Pablo also specified that her partner “has never received 6 million dollars from public entities.”

“The projects in which my husband has participated have had as their main objective the strengthening of capacities in regional governments and civil society to improve public management in the areas of strategic planning,” she added in her letter.
