In fact, Mikel Arteta did not hesitate to remove the captaincy from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s arms. But apparently, Arteta gave Xavi Hernandez a professional opinion about Aubameyang’s potential.

From there, Xavi became convinced to sign Aubameyang. The Gabon striker paid for Xavi’s trust with his goals.

On the other hand, Arteta and Arsenal did allow Aubameyang to leave. Because it is believed, Arsenal’s departure can make the club’s balance sheet healthier because of his expensive salary (Rp 6.6 billion per week).
