Rhône deputy Gabriel Amard goes on the Ocean Viking: “Glory to the crew”

The parliamentarian visited the Ocean Viking in the company of other elected officials from France Insoumise, and in particular Manon Aubry or Carlos Martens Bilongo, the deputy at the center of the controversy with the apostrophe of Grégoire de Fournas (RN).

Gabriel Amard was thus able to meet the teams of the Lyon-based NGO SOS Méditerranée.

“From here we understand the importance of preserving and strengthening rescue missions in the Mediterranean. Glory to the crew and to the rescuers who are committed to saving lives. The Mediterranean should no longer be a cemetery”commented the son-in-law of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who calls for more frank support from these NGOs which intervene at sea.

As a reminder, the Ocean Viking was able to dock in Toulon on November 11 after being refused by Italy. On board, 230 migrants recovered in the Mediterranean Sea. This episode had reacted on the left as on the right, with in particular a remarkable and unexpected exit from Gérard Collomb.
