Rincón’s son guarantees that it was not his father who was driving the car: “Let justice be done!” – International

Former striker died this week in a car accident

Freddy Rincón’s son made a public appeal for the man who was driving the car on the day of the accident that ended up victimizing the former ace to surrender to the police. The 55-year-old Colombian suffered serious injuries after the vehicle collided with a bus at an intersection in Cali, Colombia, and died days later in hospital. Rincón was initially named as the driver of the Ford Escape that ran the red light, but information later emerged that the former player was one of the passengers after all. Collision footage shows two men apparently traveling in the same vehicle leaving the scene of the taxi crash. Two women who were also inside the vehicle were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

One of them was Lorena Cortes, who assured the authorities that Rincón was driving, information that the former star’s son categorically denies. “I hope he [o condutor] tell the truth. We hope that justice is done, that the prosecutors do their job. The only thing I can say is that my father wasn’t driving. The truth will come out,” Sebastian assured.

The funeral will take place this weekend in Cali, after three days of mourning were declared in the city.
