Manchester United ends the season without a title and misses out on the Champions League. If the Red Devils don’t win against Crystal Palace (5 p.m.) on Sunday and West Ham wins in Brighton, even the Europa League place is gone.
If the worst-case scenario occurs, Cristiano Ronaldo (37) would only play in the Conference League if United qualified – and Ronaldo didn’t change clubs. The Portuguese now gives the fans hope of staying on the club’s own TV station. The reason: Neo coach Erik ten Hag (52).
“What I know about him is that he did a fantastic job at Ajax, that he is an experienced coach,” CR7 enthuses about the Dutchman. Of course you have to give Ten Hag time, but you should trust him. “Things have to change the way he wants them to. I wish him the best and we believe we will win trophies next year.”
Ten Hag starts on Monday
Ronaldo speaks of “we”. So is he staying? There was still no confirmation.
