Rospotrebnadzor warned of an unprecedented increase in the incidence of measles in Europe over the past ten years. The agency reports 37 deaths.
So, a few days ago, the Ministry of Health of Georgia announced a measles epidemic in the country – the number of cases reached 335 people. At the same time, according to Rospotrebnadzor, over the past year, the number of cases in Ukraine was 849 people per million population, in Montenegro – 324 people per million, in Greece – 261, in Romania – 84, in Moldova – 77, in France – 43, and in Italy, 42 patients per million population.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, the measles situation in Russia is stable, despite an increase in the number of cases: 17.3 cases per million population in 2018. The only way to protect against measles is vaccination, the department said.
