Running over on the EN114 in Almeirim leaves two young people in critical condition – Portugal

Two young people were transported in critical condition in an INEM helicopter after being run over on National Road 114, between Almeirim and Tapada, around 18:30 this Sunday.

According to the CM managed to find out from a source of firefighters, the victims are between 16 and 20 years of age, and were picked up by a light of passengers when circulating in an area of ​​the road with very little lighting.

The victims were assisted and stabilized on the spot by the VMERs of the Santarém and Vila Franca de Xira Hospitals, and were then transported by ambulance to the Cnema car park in Santarém, where an INEM helicopter was waiting for them.

Taking into account the seriousness of the injuries, the double transport to a hospital in Lisbon only took place after 9 pm.

The warning for being run over on the EN114 was given by the driver of the vehicle that picked up the young people, who was in shock after the accident, having been transported to Hospital de Santarém.

In addition to INEM’s air resources, relief operations in the village of Tapada involved two VMER’s and 16 firefighters, supported by seven vehicles.
