An attempted break-in in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen on Wednesday morning (5th) on the southern bank of the Main was unsuccessful on a catering boat located there. The arrest and a complaint were the result.

At around 7.45 a.m., a 40-year-old from Würzburg first climbed over the secured jetty door of a snack boat and then broke the access door to the restaurant. Inside, he gathered various alcoholic beverages and placed them in bags ready for transport.

An attentive witness observed what was happening and was able to inform the police in good time. The police officers who were called in arrested the burglar red-handed on the spot.

The 40-year-old’s unsuccessful break-in attempt ended not only without booty, but also with an injury to his leg, as he also injured himself while penetrating the boat. The 40-year-old is now being investigated on suspicion of attempted burglary.
