Saint-Chamond. The employee had robbed his company to pay his debts

Although ill-gotten, never benefits, not even really financially. That could be the moral of this case, if there was one. On September 27, a Saint-Chamonaise company was the victim of a theft. Metal plates were missing from the inventory. Estimated loss: 3,000 euros.

In the process, a complaint was lodged with the police station of Gier. The company’s CCTV footage identified a suspect: one of the company’s employees. He was filmed loading the metal plates into his van.

Placed in custody earlier this week, the man admitted the facts. He allegedly mentioned debts linked to the consumption of narcotics and said he had made 300 euros from the resale of the plates.

He will appear under the pre-conviction appearance system, also known as a “plead guilty”.
